What's in your cup
Fairtrade is a simple way to make an impact on the lives of the people who grow and create the things we love. Take coffee for example. The coffee industry is unpredictable, volatile, and subject to dramatic price fluctuations. With Fairtrade we can focus on providing good and fair coffee for both our customers and the farmers who grow it.
How Fairtrade Works
Fairtrade offers stability through a Minimum Price that shields farmers from price drops, resulting in fairer wages. This system means more money goes back to the farmers, helping them invest in their families, communities, and futures. Plus, Fairtrade provides tools, training, and market access, supporting farmers to build better lives and close the income gap.
Why Certification Matters
We believe in ethical coffee consumption, which means knowing that our coffee is doing good beyond your cup. Every product with the Fairtrade Mark has been independently verified by FLOCERT, a third-party certifier that conducts regular audits to ensure Fairtrade Standards are met. This rigorous process means that when we say our coffee supports farmers, you don’t just have to take our word for it.
What Fairtrade means for you
Globally, coffee demand is booming, but many farmers still earn less than a dollar per pound for their beans.
With every purchase of our Fairtrade coffee, you help ensure that farmers receive a Minimum Price that covers the average costs of sustainable production. Plus, the Fairtrade Premium—an additional sum of money—allows cooperatives to invest in their businesses or communities.
Fairtrade is better for everyone: quality coffee that supports quality lives. By simply buying a cup of our coffee, you’re helping to build sustainable practices for farmers and future generations.
Our commitment to Fairtrade means working directly with farmers to purchase their best beans at prices that recognize their skills and ensure a sustainable livelihood. For us, Fairtrade is about supporting the people who make our coffee exceptional.
Over the past two decades, Bridgehead has sold over 2,200 MT of Fairtrade coffee, generating more than USD 1M in Fairtrade Premium. This money has been invested in co-op operations, services to farmers, and community projects.
